Q about uninstalling a program completely
Posted by okeefe58 on February 8th, 2006

on occasion, when a program for whatever reason would not uninstall, because
uninstaller missing, gone, etc., i've deleted from C:, and then deleted
whatever i could find in registry, and then maybe something might be in docs
and settings like a save file, and maybe a prefetch. my question is-is that
everything? is there something else an uninstaller does that i am missing?
(like i said, this is only something i would do if there was no other choice)

Create a restore poin in System Restore before you install new software, and
if it goes wrong restore that restore point.

Also, it's usually possible to reinstall an app, to get back the
missing files that won't let it uninstall.
