You wouldnt happen to be running SpySweeper would you? I am having the same
problem on 3 machines and the common thread on them all is SpySweeper. I
wasnt having the problem on the 3rd computer until i downloaded and
installed the trial version of SpySweeper on it yesterday and today when i
got in the error was waiting for me. I think its a problem with the latest
build and not a Microsoft issue that causes the same problem.

There is a patch on the Microsoft site (Referenced in KB873333), but i
installed it and it did not work. If you are running SpySweeper try
disabling the automatic startup when windows loads and see if the error pops
up again. I have been running fine now for about 3 hours since uninstalling
the trial version.
