Did I not say welcome back? If not make this a formal welcome. You do stir
the pot, and so far no one can dispute your claims. 8-) You do hedge on the
fact you have to lie to gain activation beyond what MS deems as in
compliance with the EULA, but it is easily done, and in many examples even
justified due to extenuating circumstances.

Leythos is a valuble contibutibuter to the newsgroups, just as you are, and
I find little difference in what a person accessing the newsgoups could find
as bad information coming from either of you. I myself as Lethos experience
have never experienced any bad experiences from Symantec applications, but I
have seen many posts from users that have experienced problems. This is not
any different from any software application I have ever noticed feedback
from. Since Symantec has such a broad base of users installing the product,
it can be clasified much the same as Windows broad base of installation. I
have personally found most of Windows problems being related to a self
inflicted source causing the problem, and I could almost equate it to the
same cause of any popular software getting the same bad rap.
I do admit there is bad software, but most of the time, it is the user that
is really the cause of the problem.

If the above statement were true, then no End User would have any
opportunity to lie, as why would anyone want or need to lie about the
installation ID?
Why don't you get on MS's case about their lies when it comes to
activation?

Good idea, do you have any plan how I could achieve this revelation to
unload on Microsoft's marketing venue? I would love to express my parallel
sentiments about how Microsoft markets their products. Unfortunatently, they
do not offer a conduit to express this very valuable user feedback. They
have an ostrich mentality, that will unfortunately bury not only their
heads, but the entire company.
