How can I remove a Norton Protection Center icon from the system tray? The
icon was installed with NSW 2006.

Hi,
Check Norton's settings, see if there is an option not to display it.
Otherwise, either get used to it or remove the software.

That's how Windows shows that program is running in background and you are
being protected. You remove it then you can launch it manually but icon will
reappear in system tray. when not launched your NOT protected.

The icon for some reason was not removed when the feature was disabled. The
successful solution was through Start-Run-Msconfig-Startup tab and uncheck
the offending application.
