Restricting folder size
Posted by Danny on October 20th, 2005

I have set up a share on my computer for my brother to use over the network
for his "my documents". he only has a 8gb hard disk.

is there a way of limiting the size of that folder so that he can't eat up
all of my hard disk space as well??

You can set disk quotas to limit the amount of disk space users can access
on a partition, but not individual folders.

See "quota" in Windows, Start, Help and Support.

This is true but since the "folder" is all he has access to on the
partition, the effect is the same limit.
