- Setting Outlook to be default email client
- Posted by Hall on November 26th, 2005
How do I set Outlook to be the default email client in XP?
I need this to work from both Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers.
I can't figure out where the heck this is set!

To set Outlook as your default program for email:
1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. Select Tools > Internet Options from the menu.
3. Go to the Programs tab.
4. Make sure Microsoft Office Outlook or Microsoft Outlook is selected under E-mail.
5. Click OK.

Control Panel->Internet Options->Programs Tab. Which is your default
browser, IE or Firefox?

Then the Control Panel option that worked for you is better when IE is not
the default browser.
