Shared Documents folder
Posted by seventiesdolly on September 25th, 2005

I accidently deleted the default 'shared documents folder'.
I've tried system restore to get it backs but my restore points do not go
back far enough. I've emptied my recycle bin, so it's not there. I've also
attempted to use the program 'Handy recovery' but hadn't got a clue how to
use it!
Anyone know how I can restore it please?

Run the Network Setup Wizard - that might re-create the Shared
Documents folder.

If it doesn't, the Shared Documents folder is usually in "C:\Documents
and Settings\All Users". You can create a new one there.

Thanks for your reply , but how do I create a new folder? I tried, but when I
was logged on as other users, it was no where to be seen!?

Hmm, there seems to be something magic about the Shared Documents
folder that Windows XP automatically creates. I'm sorry, but I don't
know how to re-create it.
