Should PIF file have a defined association?

I have no PIF entry in Win Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > File
Types.

Should I have an entry there? If so then what should I put in there?

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...configure.mspx

Some filetypes don't need to be defined with an associated program (.bat,
..cmd, .com, and .exe for example). Handler for them are defined in the
registry but you won't see filetype associations for them in the list shown
in Explorer's Tools -> Folder Options -> Filetypes.
