Show window contents while dragging!
Posted by NineStories on March 15th, 2006

For some reason or another, no matter how much I try, the "Show window
contents while
dragging" box keeps coming unchecked, seemingly on its own volition. I
have not been able to determine the trigger of this issue, but am not
doing anything outside of normal use of Internet Explorer and manual
restart/hibernate operations as needed. To correct I go to Display
Properties > Appearance > Effects... and check the friggin' box again.
Anyone know what could be causing this to become undone, and/or a
solution? Thanks in advance.

Do you have some anti-spyware software or similar that's protecting your

No, this problem has existed since the machine was purchased new. No Norton
or anything locking the registry as this is the only change that is being
reverted.

Do you have a Dell, dude?

If yes, see this...
"Show windows contents while dragging" option is disabled after a restart
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/windowcontents.htm

Right click My Computer | Properties |
Advanced tab | Settings button under Performance |
Viual effects tab | Make sure that Show window contents while dragging is
selected here also | OK your way out.
