- Strange Error for route command..Error: Cannot Open Networks Database file rt
- Posted by Adam on March 25th, 2006
now, when i try to add or delete a line of route table with route
command(windows XP sp2), it shows an error:
Error: Cannot Open Networks Database file rt
i searched this problem with google and found a similar problem in
google group:
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...98e3ef88b80021
i checked the registery and the file 'networks', all seems good.. then
i try to see what the route have done when it runs with filemon.
Surprisingly, i found that it is always trying to open file under
"CURRENT_PATH\%SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\et c", CURRENT_PATH takes
the place of my current path in cmd, so if i am under C:\, it would try
to found the networks file 'C:\C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc', and
then returns a not found error...
Now i am troubled why it behaves like this...anyone has an idea? thanks~

Hi,
I suspect someone may have changed your prompt, run this to reset to
