- Switching USB port for default printer
- Posted by guy on March 30th, 2006
I have a USB printer setup as a local default printer with printer port USB001. Sometimes, when I
unplug the USB cable and plug it back in, Windows will install a copy of the printer on port USB002.
It is inconvenient to have to switch it to become the default printer.
How do I make the default printer work regardless of the USB port assigned?

Use the same USB port.

I will get a extension cable and leave it plugged into a USB port. It will take the guess work out
of trying to use the same port. Not nice.
