Are there two versions of Java????
Posted by RQ on September 29th, 2005

I keep getting the messsage that an object is expected after a webpage
loads. This seems to be a new problem and I don't know what has brought it
on.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes but now that MS & SUN have settled their court case the latest version
of SUN Java has been "fixed". If you get the latest version all the
"deliberate" problems have been "patched".

"Are there two versions of Java????"
Nope, you may be confusing Java with JavaScript, both of which are two
seperate languages, and are totaly diffrent to each other.

Your information is correct if he were asking the difference between Java
and JavaScript. However, per his question the answer is yes, there are.

The Microsoft version hasn't been supported for several years now.
It's obsolete. The Sun version is kept up-to-date.
