Tech Support > Microsoft Windows > too many files coming up in one search (dumb question)
too many files coming up in one search (dumb question)

I believe I know the answer to the question, but, my boss likes to hear it
from people who know what they're doing :P. When we perform a search we will
get the document we want (located on the server) in addition shortcuts will
show up (located on his local machine). He finds this confusing, and earlier
deleted the document on the server, because he thought he had multiple copies
of the same document... (GRR!). Is there any EASY way to keep the shortcuts
from showing up on the search feature? tootles!

Maybe let him specify to look only for files with a seize of at least 4 KB
....
considering his apparant knowledge maybe you should set this option for him
:-)

Don't search local drives, change it under "Look In".

Why else do you think he's the boss? Bosses are paid to be stupid.
