Unable to create a Network Setup Disk
Posted by Paul on January 29th, 2006

The Network Wizard gives me the following error message 'The wizard has
detected that this computer has no floppy disk drives or other removeable
media. You need such a device to create a Network setup Disk'
However I have recently installed a DVD/CD writer (Philips DVDR1648K/00) as
a slave to an existing DVD ROM which normally works fine. I've checked the
driver etc... If I view via 'My Computer' it states that a DVD-RW Drive is
installed, in properties it has a 'recording tab' although the 'hardware tab'
only lists the manufacturer as (Standard CD-ROM drives). If I cannot sort
this is there a way of creating a Disc without the Wizard ?

I believe you can only create a Network Setup Disk on a floppy. However
you can set up the network with the XP CD. IMHO you would be best off
purchasing a router which are priced as low as $60.00 US.
