- updates not installing

Had to do a repair of XP installation. Had
Service Pack 2 on install disk. Now updates are
notifying me, downloading, but not installing.
When downloading I get everything from Critical
kb885884 to kb944653. I also get updates: kb889391
to kb942840. I've tried "express" install and
"custom". Each time I get a message saying the
following were not installed: kb.......... etc.
Looks like all are listed again.
Do I have to install these one at a time?

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:
