My Cu cannot browse the internet after keeping the computer switched off for
a few days
I tried.....
Ipconfig > 68.56.67.89 > Valid
Ipconfig /release/renew > Done
Tried in safe mode with nw > PCBD
Tried to browse from my computer > Could not
Uninstalled and reinstalled the nw adapter > PCBD
Deleted winsock and winsock2 and reinstalled tcp/ip > Could not find inf
Tried to install from C:\windows \i386 > Could not install tcp/ip
Tried to delete the host files > Could not find the etc folder
Cu was typing INS for so long!!!
sfc /scannow > Done
Reinstalled tcp ip > Restarted the computer > PCBD
netsh winsock reset and reinstalled tcpip again > PCBD
Msconfig >Disabled all except recguard,kbd,ccapp,ps2,hkcmd,hpsysdrv > NoGo
Reinstalled IE > PCBD
Uninstalled and reinstaled Norton > Could not connect
Ping default and msn > Could not connect

I have plans for a partial recovery or a repair install but I prefer trouble
shooting and resolving this rather than going for that....I may be missing a
lot of important steps here so please suggest something to try out....
