why all the services turn off by itself.
Posted by ccytee on December 2nd, 2007

My xp home pc were infected as my services.msc:- almost all items were
disabled. So I turned them on cross check the items with my other xp.

Then updated my windows, updated my scanners, Spybot1.4, Ad-aware 1.06, run
on line Housecall scan, install NAV2008 updated and run the latest Sysclean.
The Sysclean in Safe mode clear the last nasties INF.Dloader.M and so I
created a Restore Point.

I then decided to increase by ram and next boot, I noticed the colour
change(on the icon) and when I checked services.msc -almost all the services
were disabled as I cant even use the Restore Point What is causing this.
Please help ........ thanks

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827315

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

http://castlecops.com/forum67.html,

analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

In msconfig, does porcess.ini and load system services have anything to do
with it ?Just discovered that both were uncheck as compared to the other xp

Since the last scan just now, I have actually disconnected from the internet
before this incident happen. In any case I have rescan using all the scanners
in safe mode and all come clean. The display is ok now, think theere is a
loose wire somewhere along the line. Thanks

Thanks very much, should have known better than the 18hrs on the stupid
thing. In most cases, it appears that reformat the system is the shortest
time to solve the OS problem.

ACK! In addition, you can never be sure what backdoors and what addionally

A loose wire certainly would NOT cause all Services to be disabled!
