- Why does gzip crash NTVDM?
- Posted by Herzl Regev on December 11th, 2005
I am running DJ Delorie's (DJGPP) bash 2.04 shell (NTVDM). Invoking gzip (GNU
zip) raises an unhandled exception and crashes bash. The system is WinXP HOME
upgraded from Win98 SE, and under Win98 this problem didn't occur. What is
going on?

Since you aren't using a Microsoft shell, you should ask DJ Delorie.
What works on one operating system doesn't necessarily work on a
completely different one.
