Why is my home page getting redirected?
Posted by Homepage Redirected to securitycaution.c on January 5th, 2006

I think I have a virus but I don't know how to get rid of it. Everytime I
click on Internet Explorer, instead of going to my homepage, google.com, it
goes to a website called securitycaution.com. On this page, it tells me that
my computer is infected with spyware. How do I shake this?

Thanks

You've been hijacked!!

Lol.

It happened to a user of mine.
The hijacjker inserted a new local host file that aliased the users
home page dns to his site.
It was hard as hell to remove the bugger completely.

Good Luck

Speaking of "Baddies", I've recently noticed the use of the term
"Grayware". Not sure exactly what the threat is - Anyone familiar
with Grayware ?
