- wifi connection intermittent
- Posted by jg on March 13th, 2006
I set up a wifi router at home with linksys equipment. My desktop has xp,
wifi connector/antenna is via usb and connects to the wifi every time I boot
it up. My laptop (uses wifi pcmcia card) connects automatically about 10% of
the time. The other times I have to go to 'view available networks', then
advanced settings, and and check the box allowing windows xp to access the
network. Signal strength is always excellent. Why does this happen and how
do I fix it to connect automatically every time?

Are you using Belkin Card for your Wifi in the laptop? If so then there
should be an icon in the system tray in bottom right hand corner.
Right-Click on it and select Enable Windows Zero Configuration (WZC).
This should connect the laptop automatically.
