Ok, so I was trying to do a windows update in XP and it says I need to
validate XP. Ok, then microsoft website says it's no longer valid and I
need to activate windows... So what did I do wrong? I've had this pc
for 2 years now and I've never run into this... HELP!

You should probably follow up with whoever sold you your copy of Windows.
You may not have received exactly what you paid for. In other words, they
may have sold you pirated (illegal, non-licensed) software. See
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/h...n/default.mspx for some
information.
