- Windows Explorer crashes in XP
- Posted by Chips on October 12th, 2005
Whenever windows explorer crashes I find that I can keep using it as long as
I don't answer the question about sending or not sending the log file to MS.
This makes me wonder if the program crashed at all? After the apparent
crash, every expected function of Windows Explorer works as it should.
Explorer will not shutdown and restart until the choice is made about sending
the log file to MS. I can keep working indefinately by just moving the
send/don't send window out of the way.
I'm interested to know if anyone has seen this and/or raised the issue with
MS.

When does it crash? Always the same way? Does restarting explorer.exe via
the Task Manager help? More info needed. In the meantime see line 319:

I encounter exactly the same problem, appearing around 2 weeks ago. I did
not find any way to solve the problem. I tried kellys-corner-xp proposal but
it did not succeed. Have you got anything new?
