Windows updates, corrupt files, now cpu won't start

Windows updates, corrupt files, now cpu won't start: Posted by Jason on November 3rd, 2005; I tried to get Windows Updates. After I clicked run for the updates I
received a message that I had a corrupt file and that I need to run a scan
disk to check for errors. I set the error scan for next restart. After the
restart my computer will not open windows. I get a message saying I'm missing
a driver. The exact msg I can provide later. I have tried various steps to

Try repairing XP by inserting you XP installation CD in the CD drive
and booting from there. The Repair option should be there.
