- wireless keeps disconnecting
- Posted by mimmo on October 16th, 2005
Whenever my IBM Thinkpad goes into power sleep mode, and I sign back in, I
seem to loose my wireless connection.
To get it back I have to do the following:
Right click on the wireless icon in the system tray
View available wireless connections and choose my connection
Click on the Advanced button and check the box "use Windows to configure my
wireless connection settings"
after this the I get the connection back, the check mark in the box seems to
disappear after the laptop goes into power saver sleep mode
any suggestions on how to avoid having to do this every time?
thanks

Unfortunately, this is sometimes a known issue with sleep mode and
wireless. You can check on IBM's (OK, Lenovo) site for your specific
Thinkpad model to see if there are updated drivers/software for your
wireless and also for the power management. IBM has a neat new updating
program that helps with upgrades, too.

Cannot jump back quickly to the previous wireless situation
but far fewer steps by logging off and then logging back on.
This re-starts the wireless connection as a clean operation.
