- WMI - DCOM error messages at startup
- Posted by Sandy Wood on January 23rd, 2008
A handful of my XP SP2 systems have been exhibiting slow startups from
power-on to the Alt-Ctrl-Del screen. On each system we've seen, in the System
log, an Error saying:
Type: Error
Source: DCOM
Event ID: 10010
Event Time: 1/22/2008 10:01:42 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: Computername
Description:
The server {73E709EA-5D93-4B2E-BBB0-99B7938DA9E4} did not register with DCOM
within the required timeout.
These timouts run on average about 2 minutes. It appears that the GUID has
to do with WMI. Could WMI be corrupted? Has anyone seen this before?
