- Wrong spell in ClearType configuration
- Posted by Tommy on March 19th, 2006
Running ClearType Tuning on XP Pro, it has a wrong spell in advanced
configuration tab. The below is that original words:
"Apply all setting to defaults for new users and svstem"
there should be "system" but not "svstem"
I'm wonder could you fix this problem although it's just a small spell error.
Thanks!

Try looking at it again, this time with your glasses on. It is not a "v"
but a "y".
Judging from your badly written and badly spelled post, you are no one
to be making these judgments.

hehe, quote: "you are no one to be making these judgments"
I would like to say that you are an awesome person, but you just have no way
to control yourself now that you have no idea.
Thanks for your quick reply.

OK, what appears to be going on is that another control or its border is
slightly-overlapping the text of that sentence, and cropping the bottom
of the Y. When you use the Windows Classic theme, it crops it by a
couple more pixels than when using the standard XP themes and makes the
Y look like a V.
Chances are the bug is too small to every be fixed ... but I'll watch
out for it in Vista builds.

Not on mine (see attachment). Maybe if you get a better video card you
can see it. If you look closely at your screen shot, you will notice
that the "v" is slanted on the right hand side like a "y" would be.
I just thought ironic that someone who doesn't have a good command of
the English language should be making typo corrections.

You're right. On my other machine, with the classic theme, it looks like
a "v".

Excuse me Tommy but there is noy mistake on the ClearType Tunig panel. It
appears that your font is cutting the "y" off.
