- XP Login Issue

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 running XP Pro SP2 and it is connected to our
Domain. It has two Domain accounts on it plus a local one as you would
expect. When the notebook is connect to the domain both Domain accounts login
successfully, however, every now and then either one of the domain accounts
can't logon onto the machine when it is not connect to the domain. The error
message I get is "The Domain can not be found please check your user name and
or password". The only way around this is to reconnect the machine to the
domain at the office. A bit of a problem when you are trying to login from
home via a VPN connection. Any idea would be much appreciated.
