- XP Pro Sp2 Slow File (Only) Context Menu
- Posted by skellish@comcast.net on February 28th, 2006
Running XP Pro SP2. When I right click on a file (explorer, desktop
etc), it takes 20-30 secs for the context menu to appear. Context menus
for folders, network places, printers etc. all appear immediately. I
already tried ShellViewEx to disable all context handlers but it had
not affect. Problem started a couple of months ago after I visited a
website. Virus scanning and HijackThis don't seem to indicate anything
out of the ordinary.
Anyone have any suggestion what else to look at?
Thanks
Scott

Thanks, but I had already looked at that and used ShellViewEx as the
article suggested to disable all of the context handlers to no avail.
