Active sync does not work any longer

Hello,

when inserting my Pocket PC into the cradle,
it understands that is trying to connect to a host.

Message:
USB
Status: Trying to connect to host.

That is it. There is not anything happening else.
My PC does not recognize that there is a USB
connection any longer.

Instead of this I receive the message:
New USB device detected.
Then I get the message:
HTC USB Sync
is installed.

But still no active sync.
Just few days ago it was working perfectly.

Where is the problem?

Possibility that it's plugged into a different usb port or into a
different hub?
