active sync internet pass through does not work any longer - error code 0x85020006

Hi
I'm using a WM6 device (HTC Touch Cruise) and Active Sync 4.5 respectively
Vista Mobile Center (I have one sync partnership setup with a Windows XP SP2
PC under ActiveSync 4.5 and another with a Vista Professional PC). I also
have an exchange server partnership configured for emails.

Since a few days I cannot use the 'pass through' internet connection with my
WM6 device any longer when connected via USB cable to one of the two PCs.
Synchronisation of items with Desktop Outlook works fine with both
partnerships, Mail sync with the Exchange Server also works fine when I am
using GPRS/3G.

It is basically that my device cannot connect to the internet any longer
when connected via usb to either PC. The ActiveSync error message is:

Microsoft Exchange
Result:
Cannot connect with current connection settings. To check your connection
settings, select start, then Settings, then Connections.

Support Code 0x85020006

I suspect I am having this problem since I had to configure a proxy for the
Internet Explorer on one of the partnership PCs for a short time. I
connected the device while the proxy was set. The proxy is now disabled
again, maybe the WM6 device has not noticed.

Anyone encountered this before?

cheers
Marcus

Same problem with my HTC Wing. Exchange Server sync fails when on USB and
when sync is initiated from the phone or the device center.

Since you're using a Wing, is it possible you're with T-Mobile USA on their
$5.99 data plan? The $5.99 plan runs through an HTTP proxy which often
confuses Activesync which tries to use the same proxy, under the assumption
that the Exchange server needs it. Since the proxy is only available via
cellular data, the connection fails.

I'm using a T-Mobile MDA (HTC Wizard, the Wing's predecessor) and this was
always a problem for me until I added this registry key (on the PC- not the
mobile!):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services]
"AllowLSP"=dword:00000000
