ActiveSync crashing Outlook?
Posted by Snapper on June 17th, 2008

I run Outlook 2003 on a PC running Windows XP SP2.

I have a HP iPaq 112 running Windows Mob 6 "Classic".

I have ActiveSync 4.5 installed.

Every so often when I turn my PC on in the morning, if the HP is connected via
the USB cable, after I start Outlook it crashes and asks to send a debug report
to Microsoft. I usually click on no and the dialog box restarts Outlook.

if the iPaq isn't connected this never occurs.

Just wondering if this is a common problem or not?

I have a similar problem. When I have run activesyn, I can no longer access
outlook. I have to reboot. I have Vista business, and outlook 2007. I have
tried to contact microsoft but as usual I got answer that had nothing to do
with the problem.

Hi,
Do you have any add-ins installed for Outlook? Also, it could be a confict
between an add-on. Also, it could be because Outlook never closed from the
last time it was running. Take a look for it in the Task Manager.

Not that I'm aware of. There was an Apple thing but I've removed it.

Will check the next time it occurs.

Thanks
