- ActiveSync & Outlook Mails w/Attachments
- Posted by Joseph Gruber on October 18th, 2005
Any one know how to resolve the issue of Outlook mail items with
attachments (or embedded images/objects) not syncing with ActiveSync
resulting in a constant "Unresolved Items"?
I'm using Outlook 2003 in cached exchange mode. I have ActiveSync 4.0
currently.
I have tried Outlook in "normal" mode (eg: w/o cached exchange mode) as
well as ActiveSync 3.8. I have moved the items out to a folder and
back. I have hard reset. I have disabled the conversion of items when
they get synced to the pda.
It doesn't matter what I do...they still stay unresolved and don't get
to the pda
Thanks for any help...
Joseph

Hi,
Is there anything else unique about the e-mails? Have you tried forwarding
them to yourself to see if the newer versions sync ok?

Nothing in particular about them. I have not tried your suggestion
though and will try that tomorrow.
I found this in the WCESMgr.log file -- it seems to be repeated
numerous times and I can only imagine it has to do with the items not
syncing:
Failed to sync a [Merlin Mail, 0, 0x200000E0] object because of error

Hi,
The error is from Outlook. Try running scanpst to fix the PST file and
detect & repair of Outlook.

Chris,
I'll try that -- but if it also occurs when I'm not using cached
exchange mode and am connected directly to the exchange server how can
it be a pst issue?
Thanks.

do you have the attachments stored on a storage card or on the device? Have
you tried deleting the file that contains attachments, usually called
inboxmst.....

I've tried both -- setting it to store on the storage card & in main
memory. I'll try deleting the folder today and see how that goes.
