Hi guys,
i have two probs (Chris - sorry if this seems repetitive but it addresses
your advice about my work email addresson my other post):
1) Appointments don't sync
2) Files don't sync
I am using an XDA Mini with Activesync 3.8 on Windows XP at home (with Sp2),
and Windows 2000 at work
In detail now:
1) Appointments no syncing
a) I know that when syncing with a home and work PC, that Activesync will
always give you the ol' "Outlook has found more than one Smith, John
dialogue, asking you to select an email address or create a new address.
This happens even if YOU are "Smith, John"!!! I know for sure that I ahve
ALL of my details (inc work email) on BOTH my home and work PC Outlooks. So
why am I getting this prompt for my own Outlook contact? I have placed an
excerpt from my Outstore.log file at the bottom of this post in case it can
shed light.
b) I also know that when syncing with a home and work PC, Acticesync will
also give you the ol' "Activesync does not recognise "Doe, Jane"" because
you need to have Doe, jane in both your work and office PCs. but it doesn't
hurt to ask - is there a crack or software that will get rid of this
intensely annoying problem?
2) Files not syncing My files used to sync just fine. Now it seems all of
the newer files I have added will not sync, and trying to resolve the items
through activesync certainly doesn't tell me which files are the
troublemaking ones. I checked my log files as per the MS support file - but
it doesn't show the names of the files that have a problem - only
Appointments.
I should note that SOME appointments and files sync ok - it's not as if it
stopped working after a certain date.
I don't want to have to sync every one of my zillion files individually to
find which is causing the problem. surely there is some kind of magical
software or alternate log file I can use to find the troublemaking file?
