- Axim pocket pc 2002 and Outlook 2007
- Posted by Dan on July 2nd, 2007
I'm running XP pro on my pc and have installed outlook 2007. In outlook I am
using a shared calendar, data goes over the internet to microsoft office
online and then I connect to it and it shows up in my outlook as "people's
calendars". I have my own local calendar unselected so that the only
calendar I see is the shared calendar. I want to know if there is a way to
sync mt pocket pc with the shared calendar on my PC. Activesync connects
without any problems and syncs with email, tasks, and my own calendar just
fine. I just don't know how to tell either activesync or outlook to make the
shared calendar the primary calendar so I can sync with it. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi,
Did you install ActiveSync 4.5? It supports Outlook 2007.
Sincerely,

Hi,
Did you install ActiveSync after Outlook 2007? ActiveSync adjusts itself to
the settings for Outlook upon installation.

Yes I did. It seems like the main problem is that activesync will only sync
with the default calendar and Outlook won't let me set the internet calendar
as the default calendar. It gives me an error when I try. I tried copying
the internet calendar data to the default calendar but that just screwed up
both calendars (I obviously did something wrong - so I haven't tried that
again).

I have the same problem. I have our internal companyweb "Vacation Calendar"
set as the default calendar in Outlook 2007 as we use this as the main
calendar for everyone.
The problem is that Activesync ALWAYS syncs the default User's calendar
(which is not used) instead of the sharepoint one and ther's no option to
change it.
The only thing I've found that allows this to be synced instead is Chapura
Pocketmirror (www.chapura.com) but it seems crazy to need to buy addon
software when Outlook 2007 and Activesync probably just need a small coding
tweak to allow selection of a different calendar.
Come on Microsoft, get it sorted out!!
