- constant re-installation required
- Posted by Willem Huberts on May 31st, 2008
Situation:
* Dell laptop XPS M2010 with Vista Ultimate (no SP1) and Outlook 2007
* HP iPAQ 5550 with Windows CE 4.2
* Syncing thru Windows Mobile Device Center 6.0
Since a couple of months my PDA doesn't sync with my laptop anymore, after
having rebooted the laptop. After every reboot I'm required to re-install
the sync'ing software package of Windows Mobile Device Center. When I'm
finished re-installing WMDC, sync'ing performs like a charm. After a reboot
of the laptop: sync'ing is dead once again. I really can't remember what
happened a couple of months ago that must have caused the problem.
Anyone any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I am having the exact same problem. I have to reinstall ActiveSync after my
laptop is rebooted or turned off/on. SOmetimes it takes three or four times
to install it before ActiveSync will work again. I have Windows XP SP 2 and
my phone is a Verizon XV6800 running Windows Mobile 6. ActiveSync is 4.5.
This is really getting to be a pain!!!
