- Icon on system tray

Why does AS icon remain on the system tray even if I disable this service on
the start-up?
How can I remove this icon from the system tray? (without removing AS
installation, since if I need to use it I want to launch it from Start menù)

Sigh... go back to the startup and you will see that activesync
re-enabled it the next time it was run...
See http://BevHoward.com/ASync.htm#WCESCOMM and
http://BevHoward.com/ASync.htm#RAPI for more sad information about this
behavior.

users really want? I think they'll be told users want these:
- flexibility (wghich AS sometimes lacks)
- total control, te user's PC and PDA belong the user not MS! So the
user is the one in charge to decide what goes on, not MS!

<sardonic grin>
This has been an issue since the ppc was released (and even before) so,
they have been told many, many times over the past decade but the
corporate decision seems to have been to not listen to users.
ahh... you have put your finger on it... it's a power issue... and in
this case, ms wins ;-)

ASToggle: just tried, and it seems to work.. but after bootstrap AS
remains! Is it normal?
Really really really isn't there a way to avoid AS is loaded at
start-up?! :-OOO
