- Internet Pass Through with Proxy Server

When does proxy server information need to be entered into the Pocket PC?
If the Pocket PC is using the PC as a proxy and the PC has the proxy server
info already entered then additional information shouldn't need to be
entered into the PPC to access the internet, right?
Is it only when the firewall requires authentication (username + password)
that the info needs to be put on the Pocket PC?

Hi,
Based on my experience there is no support for using a proxy server
downstream from the PC to allow the Pocket PC to access the internet. If
there was support you would need to set it up in ActiveSync on your PC.

Chris - There is a place to enter proxy server information into the Pocket
PC in the Connection settings. You can setup the Pocket PC to access the
internet using a proxy server downstream from the PC. I don't know where
you would set this up in ActiveSync on the PC, but there is a place to enter
proxy server info in IE settings. However, the Pocket PC apparently doesn't
use the IE Proxy settings.

Hi,
The settings in the Connection Manager assumes that the Pocket PC will
communicate directly with the proxy. This works if you have a network card
for the Pocket PC.
