- No Checkbox for Mobile Access and MS Money 2005 Windows Mobile
- Posted by Billyboy on February 8th, 2005
I have just installed MS Money 2005 Windows Mobile. I am running active sync
3.8 and Windows Mobile 2003 SE on my PPC.
There are no checkboxes beside Money or Mobile Access in the Options screen
so I cannot select it to sync and I therefore cannot access Settings either.
I have tried re-installing activesync and money but the problem persists.
Does anyone have a suggestion of what I can try next?
Bill

Hi Bill,
Mobile Access? I guess you are referring to Pocket Access. Either way, try
creating a new partnership. To delete a partnership --
1. Disconnect the PPC from the computer.
2. In Activesync -> File -> Delete Partnership.
3. Connect the device and follow the onscreen
instructions to setup a new partnership.

Hi Raj:
Yes it is Pocket Access I am referring to :-). I tried deleting the
partnership and recreating it. Initially, there were check boxes next to
Money and Pocket Access and I checked them, but they disappeared after I
synced.

Pocket Access doesn NOT exist for the Pocket PC. It was only on the
Handheld PC's. ActiveSync will show it initally, because ActiveSync works
for both Handheld and Pocket PC's. After your initial sync, it removes
itself from the list, as it "knows" you don't need it.
That said - there are other Pocket PC Database programs out there that sync
with Microsoft Access on the Desktop. I don't use any, so wouldn't be able
to recommend any.
For MS Money - You mentioned that you installed Money version 2005 on your
Pocket PC. What version do you have installed on the PC? For version 2005,
MS states that you need version 2005 on the desktop as well, an older
version won't work. If you do have the identical version installed on both
Pocket PC and desktop, check for the options on the desktop.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response. I am really not too worried about Access but would
like to get Pocket Money working. I do have MS Money 2005 installed on my PC
and it is working perfectly. It is just the Activesync that refuses to
cooperate.

Hey Raj:
I really appreciate your suggestions but I have spent toooooooo many hours
on this now and I have to move on to other things.
I am going to give up on Pocket Money. It is disappointing but it isn't
worth the aggrevation.
Again, thank you again for your help.
Cheers,
Bill
