Win2003SBS R2 Windows Mobile 6 Self Issued Certificate

"Your account in Microsoft Exchange Server does not have permission to
synchronize with your current settings. Contact your Exchange Server
administrator"

I can browse over the air to http://server_ip/exchange from the mobile
device with no certificate warnings and log on with no errors.

Enforce password on device is not set in ESM. I've called for KB919864 -
file massync.dll is not present on the server.

Any assistance gratefully received

Hi,
Did you install the self-issued cert on the device? This is required
because by default Exchange will only sync via SSL.

Also, for a list of errors and solutions see

Chris

Thanks for the prompt response. Yes the certificate is installed on the
phone.

Error in last post massync.dll IS installed on the server but an earlier
version than in the KB. However this is a WM6 device.

I'll have a look at the phone on Tuesday.

Chris

I've retrieved the phone and have further information.

The 0x85010004 code remained but there is an error in the server logs:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Server ActiveSync
Event Category: None
Event ID: 3012
Date: 22/03/2008
Time: 19:36:49
User: domain_name\IUSR_SERVER
Computer: SERVER
Description:
An error occurred while accessing the Active Directory for user [Internet
Guest Account]. Information cannot be retrieved from Active Directory due to
an unknown error. Verify that the Exchange ActiveSync Server can communicate
with Active Directory, and that the user has a valid account.

There is also HTTP:1.1 403 Request Forbidden in the Exchange Server0 (sic)
log on the phone.

And...

Finally found it!!!:

OMA settings were in error.

Thanks for your help. Cleared my thinking.
