- VPN software CAUSES sync failures/disconnects
- Posted by Eric on July 13th, 2006
FWIW, VPN client software, whether actively connected or sitting idle may
cause AS4.1 (or 2) from connecting to the mobile device. Just scanning over
many of the posts here, I see people with connection issues, and among their
list of installed software is VPN... Just a heads up. In my case, I could
not find a work around, and reverted back to WM2003SE and AS3.8.

Hi,
Most VPNs are configured to disconnect other network connections while they
are active. This is done to reduce the security risks of having another
network connection that the administrator does not know where it goes to.
So you need to discuss this with the network administrator to resolve it.

With my particular software (which isn't configurable), as soon as it is
INSTALLED - even when not connected - it prevents AS from connecting... so
just having in on the PC is enough to cause interferance.
