- "Windows Mobile Device Center Sync Host has stopped working" const
- Posted by TurboFool on March 9th, 2007
Suddenly only a couple of days ago I have started receiving this error every
single time I try to sync my PDA. It happens during the backup operation
which apparently runs BEFORE my sync, so my PDA seems not to even by syncing
anymore. If I don't click the "Close" button on the warning the backup
operation will complete, but the sync never will.
Also it locks up my Outlook store file, requiring me to restart before I can
use it again.
Any clues what's going on here and how to fix it?

Nevermind. I found the solution.
1. ) Locate the "WindowsMobile" folder (inside of the "Windows" folder)
2.) Uninstall the following applications:
A. ) Windows Mobile Device Center
B. ) Windows Mobile Device Center Update
3. ) Use the "Setup" file inside of the "WindowsMobile" folder to reinstall
Windows Mobile Device Center
4. ) Go to the www.microsoft.com to obtain the Windows Mobile Device Center
Upgrade application. Install it, and you are back in business :-)
Take care,
John

I actually did come up with a simpler solution. I simply ended the
partnership and recreated it. Fixed the problem instantly.

That's cool, but my method retains all partnerships and settings :-)
