attbi/comcast now search/domain = ????

Curious as to what to use now. In windows for tcp/ip protocol, there is
a "specifier" to use a domain name in the "advance" config; I had
"attbi.com" and no problems that I was aware of, not sure about this tho.
The domain name is no changed to "comcast.net".

In linux, the resolv.conf uses "search attbi.com" which is now changed
to "comcast.net"; my computers are going thru a router and the machines
are using a private static ip to the router so that I'm not getting
the resolv.conf sent to me every so often and which would probably
contain the "correct" domain name search.

Seeing as ex-attbi.com people are still considered as attbi clients,
would it really make any difference whether to use attbi.com or
comcast.net, EXCEPT for mail and news......
