- BEFSR41 led behaviour on power-up
- Posted by Steve Sousa on August 30th, 2004
Hello:
I recently had a power surge take out my router (linksys BEFSR41 v2
Firmware Version 1.46) i was able to repair it, everything seems to
work fine, but on power-up all leds light except the Act on the WAN
column, i can't remember if it was like that before the surge.
Could someone be so kind as to unplug and plug his/her unit and see if
it behaves like mine?
Thanks in advance.

The LED is no indicator of performance. If you have a connection, go to
www.dslreports.com and run some speed tests. Satisfy yourself that the
router is OK.

Hello:
I wasn't worried about performance(yet). It's just that the lighting
of all led's on power up is kind of a self-diagnostic indication, and
i wanted confirmation that the router thinks its ok.
Thanks

Having owned two of these Linksys routers, I guarantee that if it fails
you will know it immediately.
