- Conexant connection speed varies?
- Posted by Tramp'oline on June 27th, 2004
Here is the story. my modem is a Conexant Soft56k (V.90/V.92) Pci Modem.
With the drivers V5.03.00 that came with the modem it consistently connects
at 33,600 bps or something close to that. I how ever updated to V7.2.0.51
last night. It was connecting at 45,000 bps. Now this morning it only
connects 28,800 bps. I tried to uninstall and reinstall. But same results.
NOTE: With V5.03.00 driver Modem display name is "soft56k carp" with driver
V7.2.0.51 display name of modem is "soft SmartSP"
Does anyone know what is happening here?
