connection speed
Posted by terry on September 1st, 2003

Hi,

I have written a delphi program which uses modems to control and
monitor a devices. 2 external modems are present with one attaching to
PC and one attaching to the device (Auto-answer). I have set the port
speed in the delphi program to 9600 and dial up to the device side
modem.

However, I find that the connection speed is not 9600 but a higher
value. I want to ask how to modify my program so as to make sure the
connection speed becomes 9600?

Thanks!

You could always get a couple of 9600bps external modems. That should do
it. Or you might get some valid help reconfiguring your "external modems"
if you might give the group some sort of hint, like maybe make and model
number of the modems, and what init strings you are sending to the modems.
Without that info, it would only be a guess. Good luck.
