- Courier v.everything won't stay connected
- Posted by fluvannahoo on March 21st, 2006
I have acquired a 3com 3cp3453 to replace another failed (lightning)
Courier V.Everything. Whereas the other would very quickly acquire and
never drop a connection with my ISP (Earthlink) this one is very slow
to connect and ALWAYS drops the call after connecting for 90 seconds or
so. I have added an additional modem string of AT&F1 and dip switches
are properly set. Suggestions?

info on how you installed the modem. Did you install it with up to

Post a modem log. This site outlines how to get the log in XP:

The most likely culprit is line conditions. Could be the new modem
can't deal with the conditions as well as the old one did. If that's
it, I'd try unplugging all the devices connected to the phone line and
if that improves it, plug them back in one at a time to find the
problem device. If that doesn't work, consider disabling V.92 and
then V.90.
