COULD SEATTLE AND GENOA BE REPEATED IN SACRAMENTO


SACRAMENTO, California (ADMS) - With the USDA international agro expo
going on in Sacremanto, one has to ask whether violent protests, like
similar conferences in Genoa and Seattle could occur. The possibility is
there.
Another possibility is that local authorities could detain journalists just
becuase they dont like what they write. This happened to Susanna Thomas, in
Genoa two years ago. The Italian authorities did not like what she had to say.
She was arrested on trumped up charges, held for a few days, and then booted
out of Italy.
There are some similaries. Italy had a hard-right government. The USA
is currently being ruled by the neo-Fascist regime of George Bush Jr. The
US Government could use any serious disturbances of public order to silence
its critics.
And they have the laws to do it. The Alien and Sedition Acts of 1799 make
it ILLEGAL to criticise the United States Government, though the laws have
been rarely used.
If you are a journaalist, and are to be covering anything in Sacramento
regarding this, it is strongly recommended that you use an offshore proxy
server, so the authorities cannot track what you do. They will know that you
connected to a proxy server outside the USA, but where you went BEYOND that
proxy, they will not be able to find out. With some people reportedly offering
their homes to activists and others during the conference, this is especially
good to know, if that household subscribes to cable modem service. Comcast,
which is the local cable provider in town, would have it in their logs that
you went to a specific proxy, but what you were up to BEYOND that proxy,
neither the local authorities, nor Comcast, would EVER be able to find out.
I am currently staying in a household that had Comcast High-Speed Internet.
I just simply post my E-zine here through a proxy, and neither the local
authorities, nor Comcast will EVER be able to trace what I am doing, in case
they local authorites try to harass people just for what they write, during
the agro conference here in Sacramento.

technical difficulty as of late.
