Difference between 550, 650 and 950 modes of UARTs ??

Difference between 550, 650 and 950 modes of UARTs ??: Posted by patil_suresh on May 18th, 2006; Hi,

I see a UART can be of a 16550, or 16650 or 16950 mode.
What is the real difference between all these modes? Is it the buffer
size ?

Is there any place where I can get specs for all these modes ?
