- Diva ISDN T/A Modem Installation Issues on XP
- Posted by Anthony on August 18th, 2004
Hello,
I just got a boat load of Eicon Diva PCI T/A modems from a guy in Arkansas,
and I am having no luck getting these things to work in Windows XP
I've tried to attach a picture of the modem so you can see exactly what
device I am
talking about, but I cant post a binary to this group. The picture can be
found at www.isdn.ws/modempic.jpg
The unit is detected in Windows XP, as a PCI Serial Port. I've tried
everything to get this thing to work, including downloading and installing
ever INF file from Eicon's site, and driverguide.com.
If anyone has ever gotten this to work on XP, your help will be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
Tony

Franc,
Thanks. yes, I've been there, and I've had no luck. Windows Recognizes these
things as serial ports. I blew away an employees XP machine and tried 2K Pro
on it, and I got the same problem.
Any other ideas?

I would think that is normal behaviour since your internal modem most
likely has a real COM port.
I'm sorry, I don't use XP, so I don't know if this will make any
sense, but have you tried pointing XP at its own built-in Eicon/Diva
INF file?
Can you communicate with the modem (or its COM port) using a comms app
such as HyperTerminal?
