- DPX100 cable modem
- Posted by Ron on November 9th, 2003
Hi,
I have a DPX100 cable modem from Scientific Atlanta. It is connected to a
small wireless router (DI-614+) with only one laptop on the LAN side.
I noticed the "PC" LED on the modem is flashing rapidly when the laptop is
off, the router being always on. It doesn't harm in anyway but I wonder why
it is blinking.
*No* WAN traffic because "DATA" LED is off and "CABLE" LED is steady on.
According to the short documentation available on Scientific Atlanta web
site, the "PC" LED blinks when communication occurs between the modem and
the PC (or router in my case). I assume the modem tries to communicate
something to the LAN, may be I have to open a port on the router....?????
Any explanations? Just curious!
Ron
